Mama Ashanti Limited Kenya (Mama Ashanti) was established in 2014 as a limited liability company in Kenya. It is located at plot number 3734/13 on Muthangari Garden road in Lavington, Nairobi. It spans over 849 square meters of indoor and outdoor bar and dinning areas, including an outdoor children’s playground.

With over 50 capable employees, it is a restaurant which offers authentic West African cuisine in the city of Nairobi, Kenya’s most cosmopolitan business environment and populated city. The business owes its origin to Mama Ashanti ltd Uganda which was in existence for 8 years and was marked by its success and popularity as the leading West African restaurant in Kampala. Mama Ashanti Uganda has now relocated to Kenya.

Its name strikes the chord of African pride and maternal care. Ashanti is a tribe from Ghana in West Africa which birthed the founder of Mama Ashanti Uganda, Akuamoah Boateng. The Ashanti tribe is associated with female strength.
